Server Improvments

-Celtic-
Some guy told me I should put this on forums. Initially didn't want to, but what the hell.

First, let me express (before any of you die-hard BU fans start the QQ's at my topic) that I do respect the amount of work that has been put into the game.

That said..

I believe (purely in the interests of an EO private server going to it's full potential) that there is need for major rebuilding of the server.

What needs fixing:

Npc Alignment. A lot more npc's than I care to count are much lower on the framing than they should be. They need to be raised to fit into the proper square to appear in front of the player during combat. As it is now, it's awkward.

Artwork Consistency: I am aware of how tedious it is to pixel items and NPC's. But, there should be a clear consistency in their quality. You have items/armors like Valiant or Anger's Demise that are pixeled very well, and then Iron Man costume that looks comparatively like manure. Right now, BU is the definition of Quantity over Quality.

Theme/Motif: Probably the biggest "Wat.." that I have experienced while playing are the random out of place costumes. Spiderman, Superman, etc. They are just so incredibly out of place that it really made me laugh a little. Copyright aside, they don't even fit with the theme that EO was supposed to run with (swords, armor, magic (your barebones fantasy MMORPG)). Some of the Anime related things can work with that theme, but (and this is just my personal preference), I would say it's better to make them slightly different than the originals in some way, maybe take a logo off or whatever is necessary, and just name them something generic. Subtle references are more appreciated than obvious giveaways.

Foundation and Backbone: BU is too cluttered with content. There is no obvious path of progression and no blocks to funnel players into the right path. You can take a look at a lot of other successful MMO's and see that they have this, yet BU doesn't make use of this easy to create feature. What I'm talking about here are Quests and Level Restrictions. They should be in the game to help new players know where they should be going in terms of item creation and leveling, and exploring. As it is now, trying to do things is like trying to find a needle in a pile of needles.

Beginning the game: Main problem here is that you get your first reborn within 3minutes of game play. That just doesn't really make sense to me. 250-some-odd levels for killing 10 rats? At least make players go through a larger quest throughout the starting mine before they get that 1billion exp scroll.

Magical Flute: Why is this obtainable after 3 minutes of game play? It takes the whole experience of exploring in a new MMO and just tosses it out the window. If you want players to get places, try implementing a world map feature. If you insist on having the magical flute (which I can understand as a nice useful little feature, don't get me wrong), it should be obtainable after a 5th reborn, or somewhere around there. This way it acts as another incentive to level.

Again, this is just some healthy advice. Take it or leave it, I just wanted to say what I thought was right.
