NPC: Lady Luck

Aura
This post was updated on .
Hello! I thought I'd share with everybody my latest pixel creation. I call this one Lady Luck because of her attack (rolling a die) and her sumptuous gown and hat. The outfit is loosely inspired by Edwardian fashion and the particular colours I chose were associated with royalty in the Renaissance period because of the way these dyes were produced.

I really wanted to make something elegant and excessive to test my ability to add lots of detail to such a small area. I played around with the idea of adding a veil in the red version to add some mystery to the NPC and also reinforce the idea of luck (her blindness to the outcome of the roll). Hope you like it!

I really like the style on this. Your design ideas are great as well.

As an aside, with the way our NPCs are animated they can only have 2 frames for their attack, but as a proof of concept it was neat to see all 4 of those throw frames.

Interested to see what you do next!
The cake is a lie.

Wow! This is absolutely wonderful, I've always been a fan of conceptual pieces of pixel art and this is no exception. The filigree on the inside of the armour is a great touch.

Only critique would be to watch your shading when it comes to different materials and their textures, you're erring more towards the shading of a more shiny material in some areas of the armour such as just below the bust you're not shading it as you would with perhaps the bustier area despite it being the same type of material (presumably.)

But otherwise, it's great! I'd love to see more of your NPC, perhaps some back views as well.
Lettuce be pals.
