Regarding the idea with character/monster death animations, I have personally considered it already. Characters would be excessively difficult because it would require animation of not just the character sprite, but also all items on the sprite. I would have to add additional BMPs to every single armor in the game, and logistically that is just not going to happen.

Optional monster death animations though, now that I can get down with. A long boss battle ending with an actual death scene would be badass. Squarebot exploding or the flower wilting, it's all good stuff. I will be looking into such an addition when the client reaches the later stages.

I realized the armors and everything else viewable would have to have extra bitmaps, which is why i stated it'd be a lot of work for both the BU pixelers to update every existing hat, weapon, armor, etc sheet and Insomniac. I do think it'd still be cool to see monsters animated as such though. also, instead of the layer death animation why not have the screen fade out with a message like ''You've been slain'' or an image of a tombstone coded to show your name and the creation date of your account and the time you died in the game.

Nice!! I've seen alot of games do something of that sort. I think to put a little more game play into the death of a character would be cool graphically, but might upset someone who was just been killed and wants to zoom back to what they were doing. It would be possible to code in a DeathDiscript option in the config.I think to build off your idea and maybe add a death log
EX: <Character Name: Insom, DeathDate:Fri May 30 11:15:59 2014, DeathType: "PK or NPC", KillerName: Battle Snail>

Couple Ideas, I think some of them have been touched on a bit. But heres a couple I have been interested in since I started EO

1) the chat system. I know we have all grown to know and work with the EO chat system. Some letters wont follow as fast when you type and such. Even to the point of some people DC'ing due to typing to fast.

2) Color Coding for items
White-Tier 1 crafting items.
Green- Tier 2 crafting items.
Blue- Tier 3 crafting items
Purple- Tier 4 crafting items
Red- Legendary items, extremely hard crafts/event items.

3) Resolution.
Technically this is already possible, but it comes with consequences. In windowed mode, if you stretch the game at all the text/visuals become very wonky. Is it at all possible to add in a resolution setting?

1: I'm not having any problems with msg display and I am actually planning on adding voice chat.I'm using a ttf font for msg's and such so its should be displayed as fast as any other bmp on the screen!

2: You should touch down on this a bit more, It seems like a martial arts system more than a crafting system?

3: Right now 640 x 480 is my clients resolution! I have looked into different modes and they all conclude the same thing, if you adjust your screen manually there may be graphic loss.

My post right before the start of this second page already basically (and most likely a post on the first thread in this part of the forums) went over this idea already, plus some extra features for items as well.

Quoting it :

Now, on topic. I'd like to see items with randomized numbers for every stat it adds that are set to be randomly chosen between a minimum and max amount for each value. The original item itself wouldn't be affected hopefully, making it possible to use any variation of an item in crafting. Oh, this could also be implemented into , but with higher set values and better effects for above average items, in crafting. "

Very nice! You just made me think of getting a ring + 100 hp and a belt + 100 tp  boots 300 str.. any way I thought of a character getting the whole suite and WAM

That's not something insomniac has control over. That's something you'd have to take up with both bone and cirras since the way you see things in game are all bitmap images pixeled in programs such as paint. Insomniac to my knowing is only a programmer.

One idea that would be useful, would be to increase the locker size limit. I know most people make alts for extra items, but it would definitely be helpful when a persons inventory would be full and they have extra space in their locker to put all their things in.

They already doubled the locker limit. If the craft system didn't require 5000 items to make 1 thing, perhaps we would not have to pack 5000 items in our banks, thus solving the issue of locker space! (If there even is one...)

1.) Option to zoom in and out of the FOV.
2.) Option to make yourself a status on the online menu (Away, Busy, Availavble)
Could be shortened by puting symbols like a green check, yellow line , red X
3.) Option to hide name plates of players and npc/mobs. Mouse hover feature added to this.
4.) Player command to check which monsters spawn on the map with what the items they drop. Could make it to where it shows the rarity of the items, and if you havnt seen this monster drop this item before it will show the rarity but with ??? to help keep it a mystery untill it drops.  
5.) More chat channels for trading, other languages, help, and player created channels for clubs or groups.
6.) EOR style pet system. If you dont know what I mean I can explain in detail.
7.) A real achivement and reward system like other games for over coming challenges.
8.) Revamped Spell system for more player support like buffs. Can also revamp the current spells aswell. Also could add in a passive ability system and player skills for physical attacking players.
9.) Auction and player shop systems. Auction board like World of warcraft style and a player shop system like fly for funs shop system.
10.) More equipment slots to make it possible to add new types of items.
11.) Adding an option to follow a player.
12.) Adding a new system for faster attacking. (Adds more Agi to make you swing faster)
13.) Like #12 make it possible to walk faster by adding a ton of stats to agi.
14.) Make it possible to have a REAL map. The EO style map is very bland and lacking in detail. Make it possible to have a real detailed map that takes you into a new screen to zoom in and out and see actual graphics of the map. (Would require artist to create this as well)
15.) Make it possible to create more than 3 characters per account.
